Take a sample home before you commit. Composite reads very differently in daylight against your own brickwork than it does under warehouse lighting, and the difference between Teak, Maple and Redwood is subtle on screen and obvious in the yard.

One pattern specific to this area: a lot of Narellan homes already have a pergola or a roof over the alfresco, which changes the colour decision completely. A covered deck never gets direct sun, so it stays cooler whatever colour you choose and the darker boards become a genuine option rather than a heat problem. If you're roofed, ignore the usual advice about going light.
